Hodgepodge

I'm finding that not getting home until 7:30 in the evening is resulting in less frequent posts. That's partly because I get home from work and can only think about eating. It's also partly because I get home from work and am too dumb to be able to write anything.
~~~~~~~~
I really like my new job. A lot. Do you want to pay me to do your genealogy? I'll let you.
~~~~~~~~
Is everyone really that interested in the President's dog? I'm not.
~~~~~~~~
Anyone have any good ideas for how Eric and I should celebrate our upcoming anniversary? I think we'll go camping. What if the weather continues to need a punch in the face?
~~~~~~~~
I'm spending my carpooling time reading books aloud. Right now we're working on The Hunger Games. So far, we like it. I'm looking for suggestions for our next book. I like to read books that are easier to read since I have to read them aloud and I don't want to spend the hour's drive each way struggling to get out ridiculously complex sentences.
~~~~~~~~
I love to read books aloud. One of these days I'm going to volunteer for Librivox because it is awesome, and I love it.
~~~~~~~~
I went back to the Family History Library for the first time in over a year last week. I missed that place a lot, and I realized it mostly when I was wandering along the aisles filled with drawers of microfilms. Then today I rememebred again when an old man tried to help me with the microfilm printer. Oh, I know, Old Man. Trust me, I know.
~~~~~~~~
Something wacky is going on with my lips. I think it was caused by a mango. A delicious, juicy mango.
~~~~~~~~
I joined the Utah Food Co-Op this month. I'm pretty excited about it. I'll let you know how it goes. I know you're on the edge of your seats.
~~~~~~~~
In summary, here are your topics for commenting: Will you pay me to do your genealogy? Is the President's dog that interesting? Anniversary suggestions? Book suggestions? Hop to it. Get to commenting.
Sherry, I totally agree about the dog. I'm not even going to say whose dog, because it's really not that interesting. Good luck with your upcoming anniversary. We can talk about ideas in person later, when I'm there!
I fed one of my roommates mango once and he broke out in hives. After some research, I found out that the allergen is only in the skin of the fruit, or the sap of the tree, so if you peel it carefully there should be no allergic reaction. People who are allergic to mangoes are often allergic to pistachios too, if I remember right.
Glad you guys are enjoying the Hunger Games. Did Eric finish it?
The Old Man helping you at the FHL is hilarious. I have that happen several times there and at the Church Archives. It's even more funny when the other regulars and/or staff know that you are there daily... and know how to do what the new guy is trying to show you how to do. Great times.
The President has a dog? Why haven't I heard about this before?
Firstly - reading aloud for the duration of the car pool? What?! No crocheting?!?
Secondly - when were engaged and Chris had come to visit one time my Mum gave him a Mango - he had NEVER had one and didn't know he was supposed to peel the skin off so he sat in his car to wait for me and ate it skin and all - I remember him saying he thought to himself - what is everyone going on about?! These mangoes are quite bitter....
I was thinking about the old man helping you and I was about to type :Aren't old men so cute?" when I realized how WRONG that sounded... ahem. Basically though, I have this soft spot in my heart for old men, especially when seen alone and lonely. One time Tim and I went out to eat and I saw a man getting food by himself and my heart nearly broke in two. Maybe he had a wife alive and well somewhere, maybe not. Still, my heart aches for them, I think because my grandpa was alone for so many years. wow. I mainly just wanted to say that I agree about the dog. I said that SO MANY TIMES to Tim when I would hear about it EVERYWHERE! Who cares what kind of dog they got?! Seriously!
